23.11.2023 Hluboká nad Vltavou – WEDOS Internet, a.s., a leading Czech provider of hosting services and cyber protection, announced that its innovative solution WEDOS Global Protection is now being tested by the first banks in the Czech Republic. This comes in response to the large-scale cyber DDoS attacks that seriously affected many websites of Czech banks for several days at the end of August and beginning of September 2023.
These attacks led banks to limit or completely cut off international connectivity, which had a negative impact on Czech customers in other countries and on services using international infrastructure. WEDOS response was to offer its WEDOS Global infrastructure, which is designed to provide real-time DDoS mitigation without the need to limit international traffic.
WEDOS Global’s unique solution is built on more than 2,000 servers in dozens of locations around the world. It is able to spread DDoS attacks and scrub traffic, providing continuity of service to its clients. This can be deployed in 5 minutes without the need to invest in expensive hardware or change service providers.
Three major Czech banks are already testing WEDOS Global Protection on their chosen services, giving them a significant competitive advantage for customers travelling abroad or for companies using third-party software on servers located outside the Czech Republic.
WEDOS Internet, a.s. is one of the fastest growing IT companies in the Czech Republic with international reach. The company has two private datacentres in Hluboká nad Vltavou and has over 324,000 customers worldwide.
